It is the point where talent and passion meet that you will find Anna Weatherup. A remarkable singer and songwriter, Anna is committed to the journey of succeeding at her craft.
Her career so far is a story of dedication and drive. A Townsville girl at the age of 13, Anna taught herself the guitar and has played live gigs for over 7 years. The childhood dream she still carries with her is to play to her own sold out concert; this is the goal she works towards everyday.
Her music is an acoustic blend of folk and country, but Anna never misses an opportunity to rock out a little too. Her positive personality gives her a captivating aura when performing and she takes to the stage like a person born to be there.
Her career highlights so far include supporting music legends Colin Hay & James Reyne on their respective tours. She also performed at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and spent time in London recently playing a series of very well received gigs. Her bright future will see Anna’s performance skills continue to grow with plans to travel through America and hit the Australian festival circuit.
Two years after the success of her debut E.P, Truth, Anna has released an album which turns her life lessons into honest and beautiful music. To her, music is about connection and she tells her journey simply through the ethereal grace of her voice.
After The Storm is an album full of moments you can relate to. From the infectious and happy “Answered Prayer” to “Miracle” a song you can’t help but pause and reflect upon, this album is an honest and gracious step for the young singer.
If you’re interested in experiencing the joy that is Anna’s music, you can find her on myspace, www.myspace.com/annaweatherup and iTunes. She also performs regularly, so check out her website www.annaweatherup.com for more information.

The Mean Fiddler food and liquor concept store is on the prowl for local food and wine producers as part of their commitment to stock and sell as much ‘local’ produce as they possibly can.
According to buyer, Gail Smith, high quality local produce combined with a great selection of fine wines, imported beers and spirits is what makes their new store so different.
“We’re encouraging more local growers, food producers, even smaller boutique wineries to get in touch with us and show their wares,” Gail said.
“We’re particularly interested in homemade local jams and condiments, olives, cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts, even cut flowers and of course wines, either alcoholic or non-alcoholic, particularly organic produce,” she said.
“We see our store as much more than just a premium liquor outlet. We have specialty chefs and kitchen staff on hand creating ready to heat, ready to eat gourmet take home meals for busy clientele. People drop by and pick up a great meal along with a bottle of wine or a few beers so they can kick-back and relax. We even provide for all entertaining needs too. The olives, the dips, pates, terrines, cheeses, cold slices and you can get fresh vegetables and fruit also,” Gail added.
If you’re a local grower or food producer, or indeed, if you know of someone who is, our advice is to get in touch with The Mean Fiddler Food and Liquor store and make a time to show them your wares. You can call Gail directly on 8883 4100.
